#1 Knee Surgeon in Michigan

ORTHOBIOLOGICS
What are orthobiologics?
Orthobiologics are growth factors concentrated from your own blood cells at our medical facility. The goal is to stimulate a healing response within damaged tissue, improve symptoms and reduce the chance of further surgery.
How are orthobiolics delivered?
Orthobiologics are delivered as part of our soft tissue program designed to help reduce painful knee symptoms. They are placed at the site of degenerative knee tissue by Dr. Weir using a miniaturized camera. Personalized physical therapy and medication support the recovery and delivery of the orthobiologic injection.
Are orthobiologics covered by insurance?
The arthroscopy, physical therapy and medications are usually covered by insurance. Co-pays and deductibles apply for most patients. Orthobiologics are not traditionally covered by insurance and have a charge of $750 as of January 1st, 2026. Pricing will be finalized for you by the billing office prior to the procedure.
